IPS designs, installs, and supports fire systems alongside access control, video surveillance, and intrusion alarms. The work that matters most sits at the seams: the fire alarm releasing locked doors, access control reporting door status, and cameras covering exits. Support after closeout includes service calls, support programs, and NOC device-health monitoring. Fire alarm signal monitoring is separate and contracted by you with an independent monitoring company.

The System Assessment is obligation-free. We walk egress paths, stairwells, and controlled doors with your facilities team and note how the fire alarm and security systems interact today. A common finding is a maglock added years ago with no fire alarm release or request-to-exit. We also flag where the fire marshal will likely need to review changes. IPS does not certify code compliance unless the quote says so.

Design covers device layout, door hardware, wiring paths, network and PoE budgets, and the interface points between fire and security. Our certified, trained installation team handles the work, often in occupied buildings, so we plan shutdown windows and fire watch needs with you up front. Before closeout you accept the installation and training, and we hand over documentation of what was installed and how it is wired.

Yes. The access platforms we install scale from a single door to many sites managed from one system. For multi-site owners, the harder decisions are organizational: who owns the credential database, who approves access to each building, and how badges get turned off when someone leaves. Settle that with IT, HR, and facilities before go-live. Each site's fire alarm interface still has to be designed and tested building by building.

Video gives you visual proof, supports investigations, and deters theft, but only if each camera was placed for a defined purpose. On fire and life-safety projects we often add coverage at exit discharges, stair doors, and fire command areas so you can see what happened during an evacuation or false alarm. Decide retention by policy with your legal or risk team, not by whatever the recorder defaults to.

No. IPS does not monitor fire or intrusion alarm signals and does not contact the fire department. You contract monitoring with an independent central station, and IPS connects your panels to it. What IPS does watch is equipment health: our Network Operations Center runs health checks and cybersecurity controls on connected security systems, and we fix issues found under your maintenance contract.

Hosted and managed services move security servers and software into data centers run by certified data center partners. The benefits are lower capital cost, operating cost spread over the lifecycle, redundant storage for video, voice, and data, and immediate software updates. The trade-off is bandwidth and IT involvement. Check your internet uplinks and IT security review process before committing, especially for video-heavy sites.

Yes. Support Programs include two preventative maintenance visits per contract year, with database metrics and performance analysis, priority remote and onsite response, a documented system history, and pre-recorded training. Ask that visits cover door locks, closers, and backup batteries, which wear with daily use. Repairs we recommend need your approval before work starts. Service hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday; after-hours work carries additional charges.
