We do not provide alarm signal monitoring; you contract that with a monitoring provider. Code compliance review is included only when the quote says so.

Yes. An obligation-free system assessment looks at the panel's age and support status, spare capacity, how it ties into door and elevator controls, and how it communicates off-site. The most common gap we find is not a failed device but missing records: no as-builts, no current programming backup, no one sure who holds the panel passwords. Knowing that early lets you budget a repair or replacement before the panel fails, not in a rush after.

Yes. Our process moves from risk and needs assessment to system design to installation by our certified, trained team. Fire alarm work adds steps other systems do not: plan review and permits, coordination with the fire marshal or other authority having jurisdiction, and an acceptance test before occupancy. The AHJ may add requirements beyond the drawings, so we build time for that into the schedule.

No. IPS does not monitor fire alarm signals or contact the fire department. Your system reports to a supervising station you contract separately. We install and service the panel and communicator that send those signals. When choosing a provider, ask whether it is a UL-listed central station, how it handles trouble and supervisory signals, and whether your communicator uses two paths now that carriers are retiring copper phone lines.

Support Programs include two preventative maintenance visits per contract year, with database metrics compilation and performance analysis, priority response for remote and onsite support, a documented system history from the first sales visit onward, and pre-recorded training. Confirm who performs required inspection and testing, and put it in writing: every alarm point, the signal to your monitoring center, and battery health.

Yes. We troubleshoot and repair devices during normal working hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, with after-hours work available at additional charge. Before any work on a fire system, you notify your monitoring provider and anyone else affected that the system will be under test. Repairs we recommend are submitted for your approval, and variable-scope work is billed on a time-and-material basis.

Yes, and the door interface is where mistakes happen. On a fire alarm, certain access-controlled doors must release for egress, which ties directly to fail-safe versus fail-secure hardware choices. Getting that wrong either traps people or leaves a secure area open. We design the fire, access control, and video interfaces together, and test each door's behavior during acceptance rather than assuming the programming is right.
