IPS installs probes and an application on your video server that check every camera and server component every 60 seconds and apply cybersecurity controls. Data goes outbound over TLS to IPS's AWS server. Some cameras are restarted automatically; if that fails, a service ticket opens. We fix it under your maintenance contract. The NOC watches device health. It does not watch live video.

It depends on bandwidth, retention, and who will run the servers. Hosted services cut on-site hardware and capital cost, spread cost as operating expense, and give you immediate software updates. On-premises recording avoids upload bandwidth limits and suits long retention at sites with many high-resolution cameras. Many sites use a hybrid. IT teams often lease servers on five-year refreshes already, so ask yours about bandwidth.

We design from use case, not camera count. A warehouse dock needs wide coverage and good low-light performance, a cash office needs detail, and a parking lot needs lighting checked and pole runs measured, since Cat 6 stops at 328 feet. We also plan mounting heights, PoE budgets per switch, and which cameras link to access control events. A common mistake we see is buying cameras first and defining requirements afterward.

Support Programs include two preventative maintenance visits per contract year, covering database metrics compilation and performance analysis. You also get priority response for remote and onsite support, a documented history of your system, and pre-recorded training sessions. Use one visit for camera firmware and recorder patches, which often have no owner, then confirm each camera still records correctly.

Standard service runs during normal working hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding company holidays. After-hours visits or work planned around shutdowns can be arranged but may carry additional charges. If a camera feed keeps dropping, note the time and camera name before you call. That shortens troubleshooting a lot.

When video and access control are linked, a forced door or denied badge brings up video from that door, so investigations take minutes instead of a search through hours of footage. It only works if cameras at readers are placed to see the person, not just the door. Decide early whether the video platform or the access platform is the main operator screen, because that choice affects licensing.

Pricing is based on the number of devices and the services in the IPS quote or confirmation: cameras, recorders or hosted storage, network work, and integration.
