Remote CCTV Monitoring Services

The term covers two different services, and it is worth being clear. One is people watching live video and responding to events. IPS does not provide that. The other is monitoring the health of the system itself: cameras online, recorders writing, storage healthy, firmware and cyber controls in place. That is what our Network Operations Center does, and when it finds a problem we troubleshoot it under your maintenance contract.

No. Our NOC watches device health and sends notifications when something fails; it does not watch live footage, verify intruders, or dispatch police. If you need live video guarding or alarm verification, you would contract a monitoring provider for that. Ask them whether their central station is UL-listed, how they handle false alarms, and how their operators reach your after-hours contacts. We can install and service the cameras either way.

We install remote probes and an IPS application on your video server. They perform constant health monitoring and cybersecurity controls, and your network sends that information outbound over TLS to our secure AWS server. Each camera and server component is checked every 60 seconds. Some cameras restart automatically, and a failed drive opens a service ticket instead of surfacing the day you need footage.

Often, yes, but we confirm it during an assessment. We look at the video server, recorder software version, network layout, and whether outbound TLS traffic is allowed. Your IT team should be in that conversation early; firewall rules and server access are the usual holdups. If recorders are past their typical four-to-six-year life or can't take current patches, that is a sign to plan an upgrade, not patch around it.

It depends on bandwidth, retention, and how much infrastructure you want to own. Our hosted services use certified data center partners for storage and redundancy, shift spending from capex to opex, and keep software updated. The trade-off is upload bandwidth: long retention on many high-resolution cameras can outrun your internet circuit. For many sites a hybrid approach, recording locally and hosting management, is the practical middle.

Yes. Several sites can feed the same dashboards, and offline-time history shows which locations fail most often. Before adding sites, standardize what you can: recorder software versions, naming conventions for cameras, and who at each site gets notified. In our experience, multi-site health monitoring fails less on technology than on unclear ownership of each location's alerts.

We start with remote troubleshooting; many issues, such as a stopped service or a camera that lost its stream settings, can be fixed without a visit. If a technician is needed, service is dispatched within a reasonable time during normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Support Program customers get priority response for remote and onsite support. Repairs we recommend are submitted for your approval first.

Pricing is based on the number of devices and the services in your quote or maintenance contract. The number of cameras and servers, the number of sites, and whether you add hosted services or onsite support all affect it. We define that scope in a consultation and site review.
