Integrated Security Systems and Solutions

Separate security systems that share data and a common way of working. In practice that means access events tied to video, alarms routed to the right people and one set of user records instead of three. It does not have to mean one brand. Integration can be a single platform or a few systems joined through supported interfaces. IPS starts by getting IT, HR, facilities and security to agree which connections they will actually use.

A single platform is simpler to train on, patch and support, and upgrades don't break links between vendors. Best-of-breed lets you pick the strongest camera or access product for each job, but every interface is something someone has to maintain. For most multi-building organizations we lean toward one core platform with a short list of well-supported integrations. If a legacy system still works well, keeping it can be the right call.

Often, yes. Existing infrastructure can be reused if it meets your needs, so we check each device against what the new design has to do. The usual traps are readers wired on Wiegand, which sends credential data unencrypted where OSDP with Secure Channel would not, recorders past their supported software, and switches without the PoE budget for new cameras. Reuse what passes. Unsupported servers mean hunting parts on eBay instead of next-business-day replacement.

Phasing lets you move one building or floor at a time, run old and new side by side and learn as you go. You pay for temporary interfaces and a longer schedule. A single cutover is faster and cleaner, but it needs a firm shutdown window, credentials migrated in advance and staff trained before day one. In occupied buildings that run around the clock, phasing is usually the safer choice.

Ask who owns the credential database and user changes after go-live. Ask how firmware and software patches are handled and who pays for them. Ask what acceptance testing looks like and which documents you receive at handover. Ask whether the design reuses your network or needs new VLANs, switches and PoE. Ask exactly what the support agreement covers. Clear answers now prevent change orders later.

IPS's NOC monitors the health of your security devices and servers, not live video or alarm signals. Remote probes and an IPS application on your video server run health checks and send outbound data over TLS to IPS's secure AWS server. When we find an issue, we resolve it through your maintenance contract. Intrusion alarm monitoring is provided by monitoring partners you contract with directly. IPS does not monitor alarms or dispatch.

Yes. Service calls cover dropping camera feeds, readers that work intermittently and displays with poor image quality. Time-and-material work is billed at prevailing rates and performed during normal working hours unless otherwise agreed. After-hours or special scheduling carries additional charges. If the same fault keeps coming back, it usually means the system needs an assessment rather than another service call.

Most IPS clients keep us after commissioning. Support Programs include two preventative maintenance visits per contract year covering database metrics and performance analysis, priority remote and onsite support, a documented history from the first sales visit through installation, and pre-recorded training sessions for new users. Clients accept the installation and training before closeout, so the handover is agreed rather than assumed.
