Federal rules under the Bank Protection Act call for an alarm system or other device that promptly notifies law enforcement of a robbery or burglary, so choose that station carefully. Ask about UL listing, backup sites, dual-path communication, and how they handle hold-up signals versus burglary signals.

Yes. Common setups arm the vault area automatically at close, require a badge plus a code for cash rooms, and log every back-office door. Be careful with dual-control procedures. If policy requires two people to open the vault, make sure the system enforces it instead of relying on memory. Decide who owns badge removal when staff leave, and audit badges and codes quarterly, since branch turnover is high.

Yes, if they were placed for identification. The mistake we see is wide-angle cameras that show a whole lobby but cannot identify a face at the teller line or the door. Define what each camera must capture, such as a face at the entrance, a transaction at the counter, or a vehicle in the drive-up, then choose lens and mounting height to match. Set retention with your security officer, not by recorder default.

Support Programs include two preventative maintenance visits per contract year, with database metrics and performance analysis, priority remote and onsite support, a documented history of your system from sales visit to installation, and pre-recorded training. For banks, that documented history is useful when your security officer reports on the program or an examiner asks what changed, and when. Branch staff turnover makes the recorded training worth having.

IPS's hosted and managed services move servers and software into data centers run by certified data center partners, with immediate software updates and cost spread over the lifecycle. Banks usually run this through their information security team first, so involve them early. Separately, our NOC monitors device health through remote probes and sends outbound data over TLS to IPS's secure AWS server.

IPS handles service calls for dropping camera feeds and readers that work intermittently. Don't defer a camera flagged as failing; that is how footage goes missing after a robbery. We dispatch within a reasonable time during normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Work outside a defined contract is billed time-and-material at current rates. After-hours work, such as repairs after a branch closes, carries additional charges.
