It's a real trade-off. One platform gives your staff a single interface, one set of user accounts that can tie into Active Directory, and fewer integrations to break during upgrades. Best-of-breed lets you pick the strongest product in each category, but every integration is something to test after each software update. If your team is small, one platform is usually easier to run. If you have specialist needs, separate systems may be worth it.

Sometimes. If the existing infrastructure meets your needs, it can be reused. We check whether the cameras are still supported and patchable, whether the cabling tests clean, and whether switches have the PoE budget for new devices. Unpatched cameras become the weak spot on your network: after a critical 2021 Hikvision flaw, researchers later found more than 80,000 internet-exposed cameras still unpatched.

Not in the alarm-response sense. Our NOC monitors device health, meaning it checks that cameras, servers, and controllers are working and alerts us when they aren't. For intrusion systems, IPS installs and services the sensors and panels, and 24/7 alarm monitoring and response comes from monitoring partners under a separate monitoring contract. IPS does not contact police or fire.

The practical links are door events tied to camera views, badge activity you can check against video, and one place to review an incident. What makes it work is commissioning. Each door must be mapped to the right camera and tested. A common problem we see is that the mapping is never updated when cameras move or doors are added, and a year later half the links point at the wrong view.

Most clients keep us on after commissioning. Support Programs include two preventative maintenance visits per contract year with database metrics and performance analysis, priority response for remote and onsite support, a documented history from the first sales visit through every resolved issue, and pre-recorded training. We also handle service calls for cameras, readers, and displays that fail between visits.

Pricing follows a scope review or site assessment. It is based on the number of devices and the services required, and if more devices are installed than quoted, the price changes to match. Variable work is billed time-and-material at then-prevailing rates. After-hours or shutdown scheduling can add charges. The form on this page starts the conversation; it does not produce a price.
