One platform for access and video gives operators a single screen and fewer integrations to keep working through upgrades. Best-of-breed lets you pick the strongest camera or access product but adds integration work and version-matching every time one side updates. Small teams usually do better on fewer platforms; a strong security operations group can make best-of-breed pay off. Either way, write it into a standard so sites don't drift.

Yes. We begin with a risk and needs assessment, design the system, and install it with our certified, trained installation team. A door-hardware survey comes before reader selection, because the lock, frame, and power decide what will work. Fail-safe versus fail-secure hardware at egress and stairwell doors is a common mistake. We confirm those details with you and the fire marshal early.

Often, yes, if it still meets your needs. Cabling, door hardware, and cameras under their typical 7-to-10-year life are usually worth keeping. Older readers on Wiegand wiring are worth a closer look: OSDP readers support encrypted, two-way communication and supervision of the reader connection, which Wiegand does not. We check each item during the assessment and tell you what to keep, what to replace now, and what can wait.

Remote probes are installed on your servers, and an IPS application on the video server runs constant health checks and cybersecurity controls. Data goes outbound over TLS to IPS's secure AWS server. When an issue appears, we get nearly immediate notice and troubleshoot through your maintenance contract. The NOC monitors device health. Intrusion alarm monitoring is provided by monitoring partners under a separate contract.

A phased rollout spreads cost and lets you learn on one building before the rest, but old and new systems run side by side, and operators work two screens for a while. A single cutover is cleaner but needs a firm shutdown window, badges enrolled ahead of time, and staff at every door on day one. For occupied buildings we usually phase by floor or building.

Yes. We handle cameras with dropping feeds, door readers that work intermittently, and displays that are hard to read. Service calls are billed time and material at then-prevailing rates during normal hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. After-hours scheduling can carry additional charges. Repairs we recommend during a visit are sent to you for approval before we do the work.
